  6. This railway was for a line planned to go from Twickenham, through Hampton, over the Thames, and alongside Husrt Park, to join the existing line at Hampton Court station. Parliamentary consent was obtained, but later the company changed its mind, probably because of the enormous expense of the river bridge, and eventually the line was turned to Shepperton instead, where it now terminates.
