East & West Molesey

An old name for that part of the Walton Road which
connects the two villages of East and West Molesey. It is possibly a corruption
from the Middle English word "cangle", meaning a boundary fence, for
this lane or more likely the stream which ran by the side of it, was probably
the original boundary between the manors of Molesey Priory and Molesey Matham.
